This propeller symbolizes the arctic marine community in Calgary. It was given to the city by the Arctic Section of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) in 1993, the society’s centennial year. Approximately 1.2 meters in diameter, the propeller served many years in the arctic before it was donated to SNAME by Osborne propellers of Vancouver, B.C.
