This sub-species of yellow warbler is endemic to the Galapagos and Coco Island (off the coast of Costa Rica). It has only been on Galapagos for less than 300 thousand years and has a common ancestor with the Mangrove Warblers of Central America. It's a different family to the North American Yellow Warbler.
