I am going to post some results for noise testing of my Nikon D800E using this test scene, shot at various ISO settings and processed through different noise reduction software. These images will go in a set called "Nikon D800E Noise Reduction Tests". This image is the original ISO 100 frame shot with the D800E using my 24-120 f/4 lens at 38mm, f/8. All images in this test are captured in NEF (RAW) format and imported with default or otherwise specified processing into Photoshop or other software. Ultimately JPEG files of the highest quality were made, and small crops of about 350 pixels on a side were made for side-by-side evaluation. Keep in mind that the aim of these tests is to evaluate the noise properties of the camera and of accessory software. The images chosen will not be very interesting in themselves.
