Astronauts Gene Cernan (front to back), Jim Lovell, Neil Armstrong and former “Good Morning America” host David Hartman pose for photos with service members in the lobby of the Sustainer Theater, Joint Base Balad, Iraqi, Oct. 11, 2010. During an earlier panel discussion, the spaceflight pioneers shared their groundbreaking aerospace experiences. As Apollo 11 commander, Neil Armstrong was the first human to walk on the moon; retired Navy Capt. Jim Lovell was the commander of the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission; retired Navy Capt. Gene Cernan, Apollo 17 commander, was the last human to depart from the moon. The visit was part of the "Legends of Aerospace Tour,” sponsored by the USO and Armed Forces Entertainment, touring bases in Europe and Southwest Asia. (U.S. Air Force photo/Lt. Col.
