Willamette Falls. This is in Oregon City, Oregon. The place where the Oregon Trail Ends. Willamette Falls is the landmark weary pioneers looked for to tell them they had arrived. Of course, I’m sure this special water fall looked a lot different back then. You cannot get close to this particular falls because it is surrounded by a huge paper mill. I spoke with an elderly woman last year and she told me the story of when she had wandered onto the property so she could get a picture of this historical landmark up-close. Before she could take any pictures security had nabbed her and escorted her off the land. Apparently they weren’t very gentlemanly, either.
