Ferns and hemlock varnish fungus (probably Ganoderma tsugae) along McElhattan Creek, Clinton County. The creek, a tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River, flows for many miles in a deep, rugged, heavily forested gorge. The Lock Haven City Authority owns most of the creek watershed and manages it as a municipal water-supply area.
