I am of the opinion that there are few better subjects for photos than the proliffic example of machinery that is ... the 4Runner. I really wanted to get a picture of one on a beach at night, and being in Colorado, I happened to lack a beach. So I drove down to South Padre Island, TX. Just a quick jaunt. Though I figured while I was snappin a pic or two, I might as well spend the week kitesurfing! This was taken on the main strip of sand north of the city of South Padre. We spent a few days sleeping on the sand behind the truck. With near 100% humidity, blowing sand all night, and no tent, it wasn't exactly ideal. But still pretty fun! This night, there were miles of partying caravans (lights in the distance) driving back and forth by our spot all night. Later we found out that there is a lot of Cartel activity down there, and that our camp spots weren't exactly safe either. Maybe we shoulda researched this a little bit!
