View from the North Trail, Lehigh Gap Nature Center, Carbon and Lehigh Counties. The trail branches off the Appalachian Trail as it ascends the summit of Blue Mountain. Toxic metals from nearby zinc smelters destroyed the original vegetation here; however, the nature center has been actively revegetating the area. The sparse tree cover provides sweeping views in all directions.
