The magnificent Salisbury Cathedral dominates everything in Salisbury within a 5 mile radius! The Cathedral is unique in that not only is it the tallest church in the Country, but that the main body was completed in one style, in 38 years! The Tower and Spire were added later. The Cathedral is enormous - 449ft long! The Massive Tower and Spire, the latter of which soars to 404' (123m), is the highest in the UK, the 17th Tallest in Europe, the 19th Tallest in the World and the tallest medieval structure in the World! The Central Tower alone rises 223' (68m) and it houses a chime of 5 bells, the hour bell weighing 26 cwt. This is a MUST visit if you ever visit the South Coast.
