You would have thought, that with all the trouble that went into making this, it would have been placed somewhere it could be easily read. As well as Saint Mary's Church the celebrated architect Sir George Gilbert Scott was commissioned by John Armitstead, vicar of Sandbach, to design a number of buildings in the town, including:- Sandbach School Sandbach Literary Institution, The Almshouses, St. John’s Church Sandbach Heath The vicarage known as Tall Chimneys. The Armitstead family are thought to have financed all the above works. Sandbach, Cheshire Summer 2016.
