Malmstrom Air Force Base, Cascade County, Montana, USA -- 21 Dec. 1964 -- Air Reserve troop carrier organizations from the 349th Troop Carrier Group and other Pacific coast units dropped 65 tons of hay from C-119 Flying Boxcars in support of Operation Haylift, to relieve starving livestock that were exposed to an unseasonably cold and snowy winter. Name of Air Force photographer was not recorded. This was from the days before the Army and Air Force Reserve were working around the clock for America, like they are now. Times change.
