The fabulous crossing arches and East End glowing in the morning light. St Mary the Virgin in Ilminster is a wonderful church and is well-worth a visit. The church has a tower and a ring of bells to match. A glorious ring of 8 bells, tenor is a remarkable bell as it weighs 22cwt and sounds the note Db. It should weigh about 10-11cwt more but it is a powerful, booming bell. (8), 22-3-9 in Db
