From the Train heading east from Truro. Truro Cathedral is just breathtaking. It is one of only 2 Cathedrals in England to have all 3 towers crowned with spires (the other one being Lichfield). The Cathedral really dominates the land around it. Despite it's appearance, it was actually built during the late 1800's/early 1900's. The Crowning Glory though has to be the West Front. Although the Central Tower is taller at 76m rather than 67m here, the affect of two 67m tall towers then a Rose Window is quite something. The North-West Tower (the one on the left) contains a glorious ring of 12 Bells, tenor is 33-3-10. They were originally a ring of 10, cast in 1909 by John Taylor & Co. In 2011 John Taylor returned to cast 2 new trebles to make a ring of 12, an Extra Treble and a Flat Sixth. This Cathedral is well worth a visit.
