Northerly view of Pine Creek Gorge, Tiadaghton State Forest, Lycoming County, from the summit of Half Dome. Pine Creek (shown here near the village of Slate Run) is actually more of a river than a creek. It cuts through the Allegheny Plateau in a deep, steep-walled gorge in its journey to the West Branch Susquehanna River. The gorge extends roughly from Ansonia, in Tioga County, to Jersey Shore, in Lycoming County.
