On the single track road to Stronachlachar (pronounced Stronladdie) in the Trossachs, Scotland, you are greeted with the spectacular sight of the mountains that circle Loch Arklet. To the left are the last slopes of Ben Lomond, in the distance the Arrochar Alps (L to R - Ben Arthur (the Cobbler), Beinn Narnain, Beinn Ime, Ben Vane and Ben Vorlich) with Beinn a'Choin on the right. Loch Arklet is one of the lochs that supply the City of Glasgow with mountain water - excellent for releasing the flavour in a glass of that other water of life (uisge beatha).
