This Osprey chick was captured exercising its wings alone on the nest on Tigertail Beach, Marco Island, Florida on 16 March 2012. The adult female decided to stretch her wings leaving the chick alone in the nest. It immediately popped up and started beating its wings as hard as it could. It kept this up for 30 seconds or so. Then it turned its attention to a fish that was left in the nest and started feeding itself. Ten minutes later the female adult returned with a pathetic stick for the nest - just an excuse for an excursion! Thank you for visiting, I always appreciate your views, favs, invites and comments.
