Picture is taken at old Uppsala, about 6 km north of modern Uppsala. For more than 1500 years ago this was an important religious and political centre. The temple was one of the greatest and it was a settlement for kings and gods. Icelandic writer Snorre Sturlasson (Snorri Sturluson) wrote the Edda, which is sort of the bible of nordic mythology. Snorris Edda claimed that Frey lived in old Uppsala which naturally has created a big question. Is the three largest mounds, the so called royal mounds, at old Uppsala in fact the graves of Frey, Odin and Thor?
