Large (possibly old-growth) white pine, Sullivan County, within the Kettle Creek Gorge Natural Area of Loyalsock State Forest. White pines are confined primarily to the stream valleys in the natural area, where they grow with hemlocks and birches. Along Falls Run, well upstream of the waterfalls, are several white pines that evidently survived the logging that overtook the region early in the last century.
