Nothing says lovin' like a big heart shaped ball of cash, some wonderfully shaped chest hair, an outstretched arm like a soulful backstreet boy and an abusive pink vignette. This is yet another composite image / photo illustration / image manipulation. It didn't really turn out as I had originally envisioned. I was going to be holding a knife, have an open chest cavity and essentially turn it in to a blood bath. I stopped before it got messy, because I have done far too many self mutilation photos in the last 6 months. To make the heart I suspended a pillowcase stuffed with towels that I had masking taped into the shape of a heart from the ceiling with some 12 gauge wire. Then photographed myself with the heart and cash in my hand. I didn't have enough cash on me to cover the heart so I took multiple shots to cover the heart and then masked them back into the original image. The chest hair is digital. For lighting I used a bare Minolta AF4000 sporting a wide angle diffusion panel on a tripod sitting behind the subject, flashing on to a white sheet. I also used a yn-560ii and a yn-460ii in 24x36inch soft box umbrellas in front of and facing the subject on the right and left at a 45 degree angle. I shot he photo with my Pentax K-30 with an SMC Pentax - A 50mm 1.7.
