Had been searching for this kind of shot for ages and aware that poppies only flower for a short while. The poppy is a hugely symbolic flower in our country, and always evokes thoughts of the war dead, so it has been an ambition of mine to capture this. In photographic terms, I found it hard to pick a focal point and so went for the close up, but on second thoughts maybe should have set the camera to a short depth of field, because Im not too happy with the fields in the background... glad to get some kind of shot though!!
