Winterborne Whitchurch is a small village in the Winterborne Valley. The church of St Mary has a central tower, which is unusual in Dorset for small churches like this. The Tower contains a ring of 6 bells, tenor about 11cwt. They were rehung in 1990 by John Taylor & Co, the ringing room is visible in the photo and it is the window in the stage below the louvers. Anybody above 2m in height will struggle to ring here as the bells are directly above the ceiling. The bells sound ok but are very loud and most of the bells will go up wrong.
