Went to my first River Cats game last night: pretty interesting. I was surprised by how social the event was, especially in the lawn seats, where packs of preschoolers roam free, burning off energy, lightly supervised by their parents sipping beer and wine coolers. It's essentially a three-hour baseball-themed party with fireworks at the end. Nice bit of roundball drama at the very end of the evening. Sacramento led Reno, 6-3 at the top of the ninth, but the Aces had the bases loaded and were within reach of a win. The stadium erupted in cheers as Evan Scribner struck out the last Reno batter with a smoking hot fastball. Good fun.
