In nice weather, the last step includes washing and waxing the car, which is totally pointless today. Still, there’s a few things that need to be cleaned in winter. An organized mechanic would clean and put away his/her tools at this point, but I’m not claiming to be such. Clean up any spilled oil on the floor. Wash the windows inside and out, vacuum the carpets and clean out all that garbage that’s been accumulating in every little nook and cranny. Might be a good time to look in the trunk and see what’s growing there. Even if you’re not washing the whole car, don’t forget to raise the headlamps and clean the lenses. This last step is often forgotten and will noticeably brighten your drives in the dark days of winter. Enjoy!
