Yesterday I was surfing around the Internet and came upon the web site of artist and photographer Guy Tal. His photos really spoke to me. I bought his e-book "More than a Rock" and am about halfway through it. It has, for the moment at least, changed the way I view photography. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to become a better artist. For just under 5 bucks, it's a lot cheaper than the classes he teaches. Today I went out to the Ojito Wilderness northwest of Albuquerque and tried to be more mindful of the place and what it was saying to me as I walked around. I need to return many times and to practice making art and not just beautiful or interesting pictures. I think I'm on a different path now.
