The tulips and daffodils I cut the other day started looking tired, so I have sent them to the compost bin, so they may contribute their green bits, and ultimately feed the next generation of flowers or vegetables. I also managed today to finish building my stacked cinderblock walls for the vegetable garden, which now is well raised, and should be enough to have a good 18-24 inches of good soil. Got all the dirt and compost material in there mixed. Its still not safe to plant vegetables here until late May as we can still get frost, but I am eager to get the garden prepped. And there is something about some focused physical labor (not hunched over a laptop pecking twitter crap) that I find rewarding.
