Wadi Rum is a spectacular area of desert in southern Jordan. Sandstone and granite pinnacles tower above the valley floor, which is still home to considerable numbers of Bedouin who graze their goats on the spare vegetation. Several scenes of "Lawrence of Arabia" were filmed in Wadi Rum, which is not very far from the city of Aqaba. Indeed, the settlement of Wadi Rum itself boasts a "Lawrence of Arabia Supermarket!! LOL, which is more of a tribute to the numbers of tourists who come to the area each year. (+Six5)
