This is a photo illustration/composite image I did a couple months back using a shot of myself, five images of other peoples tattoos and a texture for the background. I basically buffalo billed myself a tattoo glove by cutting up pieces of tattoos overlaying and rearranging them, I illustrated the missing pieces and interactivity, then threw in a cool weed tattoo to fill out the arm, complete the color scheme and add a just a little extra hint of “scumminess” to the image. I kept seeing all these people getting tattoos of skull faces on the back of their hands. Every time I saw one of these tattoo's they seemed really boring and also made the person sporting it look like a bit of creep, so I figured I could probably take this seemingly ridiculous fad to the next level. I knew before I even started that the tattoo was going to make me look like a sexual predator. So I shot the photo mugshot style. I was going for fad tattoo, meets Jeremy Meeks a.k.a. sexy convict, meets G.M. Dark (Ray Bradbury's - Something Wicked This Way Comes). It was pretty simple image to make, the only real challenge was coming up with a way to make the skull eat vag. I definitely nailed the design challenge and got exactly what I was going for, but....I really don't like the image. It certainly doesn't resemble anything I would consider good art or photography and is easily the most tasteless image I have ever made. The only things I think it has going for it that it's somewhat original, memorable and I have once again managed to sink to a new low. A tattoo like this would probably ruin the life of the person who got it, or at the very least lead to discrimination and missed opportunities.
