It poured rain while I was here so I had to break-out my trusty umbrella. This is French Creek located in the Detroit Lake area. I swear I must be the only person who ever photograph’s this place because I never see anyone else. For this reason, other than the beauty and that it looks different each time I’m here, French Creek has become one of my favorite watercourses for photographing, relaxing and, most important, just escaping. It’s always a bittersweet experience because I feel as if I get a mini vacation for the mind but at the end of the day I feel like I’m leaving home. A side note: My daughter, Alex, worked this past summer for the federal government as a forest fire fighter and was stationed at Detroit Lake. Lucky her!!!
