Wisconsin Ave. Built: 1866 James Curry, a confectioner, and Amos Pierce, a grocer, built the two halves of this attached building. The fourth and fifth floors and mansard roof were added in 1879. Wells Building 324 E. Wisconsin Ave. Built: 1901 Daniel Wells Jr. was a businessman, judge and U.S. Congressman. When he died a year after the Wells Building was built, he was believed to be the wealthiest man in Wisconsin. The first two floors are primarily copper and glass, while upper floors are terra cotta and brick. The top four floors were stripped of much of their ornamentation due to structural problems.
