New Zealands Hokianga Harbour Ferry crossing on Northlands twin coast discovery route, highway 12. The Ferry crosses the Hokianga Harbour Narrows between Rawene on the South and Kohu Kohu on the Northern side of the harbour. See the map. The ferry departs every hour on the half-hour from Rawene and on the hour from Narrows. The first sailing leaves Rawene at 7.30 am, with the last sailing leaving the Narrows at 8 pm. South from Rawene are the giant sand dunes at Omapere, the Waipua forest and Dargaville or break inland to cross over to state highway 1 and the East Coast.
