For this shot I followed these steps...... 1) Evicted the family from the room to allow proper darkness. (Didn't make me the most popular person to our kids lol) 2) Used blu-tak to hold the cards in place on our coffee table (be careful to make sure it can't be seen from the camera.) 3) I focussed the camera (on a tripod) and turned out the lights. 4) I took a little LED light (this one was built into a cigarette lighter) and fired the shutter using a wireless remote. Tracing the pattern you see here took just under 4 seconds. And that is about it, if memory serves me correct.
