Of the literally TENS of things that I have learned in my life, I think the most important thing is that it is way more fun to start campfires and do light painting with a flint and a bunch of gasoline or camp stove fuel. Used to buy and try a bunch of different fire starters and super matches and crazy survival things, then realized a nalgene full of MSR white stove fuel and a flint striker is twice as effective, half the cost, and a bazillion times more fun! Never got a shot with the fuel lighting to work out-blows everything else out. But these with just the flint were pretty cool. Pictured is Pierce Martin.
