The weather in Scotland has been atrocious over the last week, heavy rain and floods. On Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) my daughter Eilidh and I decided we had had enough of staying indoors and saw a one hour weather window forecast for the Trossachs area. We began the climb up Ben A'an in heavy rain, then snow as we climbed higher but, just as we got to the top, the clouds parted and the sun came out. It was beautiful to behold. It only lasted about 20 minutes before a blizzard swept over the mountain top and it was time to head down. Have a Happy New Year - Bliadhna Mhath Ùr
