News item. Scientists analyzing data from NASA's Kepler spacecraft, predict 60 billion planets could exist in habitable zones of red dwarfs, by far the most common type of star in the Milky Way Galaxy. The study modeled effects of cloud cover on tidally locked, earth-sized planets. According to the authors, cloud cover would moderate temperatures, increasing the range of orbits where liquid water could exist on a rocky planet’s surface.
