Trail blaze, Cameron County, within the Lower Jerry Run Natural Area of Elk State Forest. Remote and well off the beaten path, the natural area protects scattered stands of old-growth hemlocks, white pines, and hardwoods in a deep, steep-sided mountain valley. The forest was selectively logged early in the last century. A yellow-blazed trail provides access from Three Runs Road (or Dutchmans Road). Wide and easily followed, the trail appears to be an old logging-railroad grade for much of its length. The blazed part of the grade dead-ends at a stand of old-growth trees.
