I see, I feel: The whistling bullet penetrates my forehead, The gleaming sword severes my head, and My body stretches out on the ground: Blood flows forth red and hot. Avery short moment: My feed shudder, My veins throb and convulse, then Quietness, Silence, Death, My face a grim deathly pale. A questioning rises from me What of my hopes, my ideals? There is still so much I would do! My closest friends? Will everything vanish forever? Emptiness! Darkness! Fear! My hand is groping; A drowned man grasping for a twig. Oh fate, So much struggle! Such chains! Bind my heart to the world!
