Third time this week I was peeling and coring apples. The first two was prepping for winter pies- mixing apple pie filling to keep in the freezer. Yesterday was a real pie made, but not for eating yet (it's for my friend's birthday tomorrow). The recipe is basic, it's the Pillsbury Perfect Apple Pie one www.pillsbury.com/recipes/perfect-apple-pie/1fc2b60f-0a4f... I use 1/4 cup Stevia in place of the sugar, and a bit more nutmeg then they use (I like spice). Also, my grandmother's trick- add a few pats of butter atop the filling before the top crust applied.
