The Volkswagen 411 and 412 were the automaker's first attempt to go up market. They were roomy, well made and comfortable. Unfortunately, they were underpowered, complicated and extremely expensive in comparison to everything else in the market segment. It didn't help that in VW's biggest market, the car's styling reminded many of the Chevrolet Corvair. This one is in remarkably good shape. It purred like a Subaru when it drove past.
