Part of a pair of images that I took of Carlisle Castle on a wet and miserable day in the city. i didnt go inside because of the rip off entrance fee, but the castle is pretty imposing. The second image is in Monochrome which to me reflects the ancient ruggedness of the building. I am also fascinated by the fact that Robert the Bruce laid seige to the castle! Did he stand on this very spot!
