When you walk through life, you sometimes will notice, that there seem to be people around you, who do live on the edge. Not careful but adventurous, not slow and steady, but rather at a full pace, chasing down the ditch of life as if there were no tomorrow, yelling delightfully while they make tracks. We shake our heads and in the same breath we admire them. Isn't it better to live safe than sorry? And the answer of life, as always is simple: “Yes and no and it depends.” In my experience safety itself is just a concept, an illusion. There is no safety in this life, but there are odds. From a wise man I learned, that death is always an arm length behind you. Don't see it as something bad. Death is neither good nor bad, these are just our own valuations, Death just is, is natural. And one day it will, no matter what you do in your life, just reach out it´s arm and say: “now”. Does this feel safe? Now when you learn, to accept this, and that life is like a walk on a rope with no end, in an unbelievable height, with an incredible view, through all kinds of weather, into a future which we cannot see, and the certainty that we are going to fall off, one day, into nothing, because hey, who can stay on a rope forever, then, yes then this has potential to be, worth every step. So what is the answer now? Well, “Yes and no and it depends.” But because we are on a rope, the right balance may do the trick, as we are all, living on the edge.
