There are actually two Cathedrals in Southwark. Neither are particularly well known. The Anglican Cathedral, dedicated to St Saviour, stands a mere 800 ft from the enormous Shard and is less than one mile from St Paul's. Because of these, the buildng tends to be overlooked. However, the building is a beautiful one. Rather deceptively, the long nave is a Gothic Revival Reconstruction, unlike the Crossing and East End which were built between 1220 and 1420. The Cathedral is very light and very airy. It is quiet at most times of the day and is well worth a visit.
