Looking at the map of Asia you will notice quite a spot of water, somewhere in the middle, right above Mongolia. Ozero Baykal (Lake Baikal) is the name people use. It means “nature lake”, which is quite a precise description I think. And by the way we think it is one of this world´s oldest lake (25 million years old). It was formed as an ancient rift valley, contains now roughly 20% of the world´s unfrozen surface fresh water and is with 1642m also the deepest lake. If you sit yourself in a rowing boat on one end, you could have a 650km row in one direction, not that I personally know anyone who has tried this. The challenge would be, that time is little because the whole lake freezes in winter. So take your time and cheat by pulling your boat over ice. It could work. And by the way. Having a walk on this frozen lake in winter brings you again back into the proportions you really might have in this world.
