To my dear friends, If you end up visiting Cairns be sure to drop by this scenic waterfall location. It's called Milla Milla Falls about 1.5 hours drive from the heart of Cairns. My only regret was that I wish I could have stayed here a tad longer! Here's how this photo was processed. The original had about 15-20 people splashing around in the water and walking in front of the camera. To remove them, using Photoshop I clone stamped them out and used brushing techniques to restore some areas. A more efficient way to remove these people would be to take multiple shots of the scene. Then to use the 'Statistics' tool in File -> 'Scripts'. Select the 'Median' setting and apply this to multiple photos you've taken. The people will then be removed automatically by Photoshop. After the person removal was complete, I then enhanced the image lighting using the Lenny K Actions Toolkit (for Photoshop and Elements) using the dodge/burn tool and luminosity masking. The vibrance was then increased and the hue of the yellows were changed to give a greener feeling to the trees. I attempted to also bring out the rocky imagery behind the waterfall so as to make the water more silky and transparent like a curtain. Finally the image was sharpened using the unsharp mask tool.
