This spot on the east side of my property at one time had the most lush irises, but these are just a shadow of their former selves, smaller and more sparse. I guess they get mud less sun since I had a carport built next to it. I wonder what it would take for greatness to return? My time spent outside tending the flowers and trees yields valuable metaphors.
