(adapted from suggestion by @heidi) #ds292 This was the first earring I wore after getting my ear pierced in maybe 1990, where I have had something lodged continuously since then. I have to give credit to my ex for this-- actually it was before we were married. I got a second while in Brisbane during my 2000 sabbatical in Australia. The cherish part is that Naomi--the mentor, colleague, and now friend who hired a green, Geology grad school drop out for an Instructional technologist position at the Maricopa Communtiy colleges in 1992-- always joked the reason she hired me was because I wore an earring to the interview. Somehow, just saying that was obviosu ridiculous, but also signals that unlikely series of events that diverted my off a road of being a PhD academic to my current path.
