Located in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, west of Page, Arizona, the remote area known as White Pocket was until recently a secret place of wild rock formations in an area known for its bizarre shapes and layers. It takes a 4WD high-clearance vehicle to navigate the 10 miles of primitive track to reach this place. Just a few acres in size, the area can be covered in an afternoon of walking. Yet each time I go, I see something different. Under the dim rays of twilight, the rocks look like highly marbled raw beefsteak. On an overcast day, you might say that they remind you of strawberry-vanilla swirl ice cream. We were fortunate during our second night there to see this amazing sunset.
