CHASE TOWER : The Chase Tower is a 22 story, 288 foot tall high rise building in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was completed in 1961, in an International style. The facade is a dark green, almost black color. It was formally known as Bank One Plaza, until their merger with Chase, and before that it was home to Maritime Bank. Currently it is the 11th tallest building in Milwaukee, and was the second tallest building in Milwaukee from 1961 to 1973 when U.S. Bank Center was completed When built as the Marine Plaza (for the Marine Bank) this was a revolutionary addition to downtown Milwaukee. It was the first major all-glass skyscraper (22 stories) in the city. IRON BLOCK : 1861 205 E Wisconsin Ave. Also called the Excelsior Block, it is Milwaukee's only cast iron building. Much of both street elevations is composed of cast iron modules that are bolted together. The units were cast in New York and shipped to Milwaukee. A similar building exists in New York City on Chambers and Reade Sts.
