Sign along PA Route 93, Carbon County, at the summit of Broad Mountain in State Game Land 141. A gated woods road leads to Jean Run, a scenic mountain stream, from the parking area. The stream descends Broad Mountain in a deep, rocky, heavily forested gorge before emptying into Nesquehoning Creek. Highlights of the gorge include numerous cascades and waterfalls, along with scattered stands of old-growth hemlock and white pine. A narrow, unblazed footpath enters the gorge from the woods road (just before the bridge crossing). The footpath tunnels through dense rhododendron thickets and crosses over several large rock formations; then, about a third of the way down the gorge, it disappears. Another footpath follows the stream near its headwaters in Hughes Swamp.
