This adult oystercatcher was feeding its youngster with little worms it found in the soil. The adult kept the worms at grass level and the youngster reached down to take them from the tip of its beak. More than half of the worms were dropped by the adult so the youngster had to pick up the worms from the soil. Good practice for it finding its own worms. Click on image to see it slightly larger.
