This USS Arizona battleship model was built by Voltaire D.J. Lerias. It was built in the Den of Voltaire's house. It is not a 'Kit' that one can buy at the store or online internet. This battleship model is a Scratch Built. The USS Arizona model is 12 feet and 6 inches long. It is a very detailed ship model and it is made for museum display only. The real life size USS Arizona has a World War II history significance. This USS Arizona is a 1830 to 1938 model. There were several renovations and changes made to the battleship from 1939 to 1941 before it was sank by the Japanese during the Pearl Harbor attack in December 7, 1941. Some examples of the renovations and changes were bigger antennas added to the front coning observation tower. These antennas were positioned backwards (angle) on each side of the observation tower. Red color paint were applied on the roof of each cannon turrets (all 4 of them) to indicate to fellow flying navy pilots that it is the USS Arizona. The usual grey paint on the battleship was changed to light blue color paint through out the ship... and more navy crewmen were added to the ship. (Photo taken by Voltaire D.J. Lerias.
